Wow, I can't believe my first Fathers Day is finally here! It has been an amazing almost 7 months of being a father to Luke and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I never knew how much of "my time" would be traded in for feeding, changing diapers, and calming a crying baby. There are days that I struggle with wanting to have time to myself, but then there are those days like today that all I want to do is hold my boy and not let him go. There are days when I see all his potential and I get so excited about helping him learn all that I know and everything I don't.
As you can see from the photo above, he's got a tape measure and a hammer and I can't wait for the day to teach him how to use the real thing. There is a lot of time before that day arrives, so I'll make the most of every day and let Luke know that he makes me proud to be a father.

Memorial Day kick-off!
Our Memorial Day weekend has officially kicked-off with warm sunny skies and a milk induced coma. Luke has been struggling with napping and add to that the teeth he's been pushing out of his little mouth, he usually crashes after a feeding. The milk hadn't even dried around his mouth before he passed out in my arms. Sleep peacefully my boy so you can be well rested for rest of the 3 day weekend...

Our boy has a tooth
Can you see it? Yes, it's a tooth and it's very sharp. Of course with a tooth comes lots of drool, so we like to keep a bib on him most times so his clothes don't get soaked!
Luke is learning how to roll over and we've found him asleep on his stomach a few times, and we've started feeding a combination of milk and rice cereal. We'll progress onto more solid foods once he gets the hang of eating from a spoon.
Here is a recent photo I got of him while sitting in his bumbo chair.

Dallas Blooms
This past Saturday afternoon, Stephanie and I decided it was a great day to visit the Dallas Arboretum. I can't describe what an amazing place this is during this time of the year. It truly is one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen! We are definitely planning to go back soon.
Here are the originals:

4 months
Luke is 4 months today! He is getting to be such a big boy. Here are some things that he has been up to lately.
- He has learned to stand up with just a bit of assistance and loves being on his feet.
- He loves hanging out in the baby bjorn where he can see everything going on.
- He is starting to like a bit of tummy time on the boppy and his arm strength is growing.
- He really likes to be outside and go for strolls.
- He has lots of drool and chews on his hands all the time.
- He is grabbing at toys and enjoys anything that rattles.
- More and more he follows me around the room when others hold him.
- He loves to be sung to and read to.
- He no longer sleeps in a swaddle.
- His eyes are still really blue, we will see if they turn more green like ours.
- He weighs in at 14 lbs 11 oz (50%) 26 1/4 in (91%) - tall and thin, just like his dad
It's been a tough month of changing naps and cranky days, but I wouldn't change it for anything. He is just so sweet and I feel so lucky to be his mom and to get the hang out with him each day.
